Welcome back, fourth grade!  It is good to be back, or at least I think it is!  We have so many fun and interesting things to learn.  It sounds like everyone had an awesome Christmas break.  You are all so lucky to have such wonderful families!  A few reminders………

Wednesday - Chapter 6 Math Test

Friday - Spelling Review and SE region states and capitals

We are going to start investigating and learning about the digestive system tomorrow.  Can you find out how long the small intestine would be if we took it out of the body?  It is an amazing length!  Be ready to be amazed.  Add that to our comment section, and we will see how many of you got it right.

Well, fourth grade, it is time to return to school.  I am excited about what is ahead of us, but sad that our holiday is over.  I hope you had a great time with your family and friends during this nice long break.  I can’t wait to hear all about it!  We have some very cool topics to learn about and fun activities coming up.  It will be fun to share all of this with you on Monday.  One of the topics we will learn about and discuss is the picture below.  Does anyone know what this animal is?  Do you know anything about it?  Let me know.  I can’t wait to see all of you on Monday!!

Where are you, fourth graders?  I hope that you are enjoying your Christmas vacation.  I know that I sure am!  Hopefully, you got some neat new things to entertain you.  Are you reading any good books?  I am reading a really good one!  I have to finish this one before I start one that I received for Christmas.  Check out this challenging puzzle I found on the internet tonight.  I tried to figure it out, but had no luck.  Let me know how you do.  Enjoy your time off!  I can’t wait to catch up with you.

Hello fourth graders!  I am busy getting ready for Christmas and just downloaded these pictures.  Looking at these pictures makes me again realize what big hearts that you have!  Can you believe how much change our 4th grade collected?  As we said last week, giving is better that receiving.  Check back later!

Did you enjoy your snow day? I hope you did something fun like playing in the snow! I was sad that we weren’t able to have our Christmas party, but we will make it up when we get back. Look what I found on the web tonight. It is a lot of fun, but very challenging. Give it a try. Let me know what you think.

Hello fourth graders! Can you believe that Christmas is almost here? You did a good job today working through the rocks and minerals. Remember what luster means? Tomorrow we will continue with them and run the streak and acid test. Don’t forget that we have our Christmas concert tomorrow at 10 a.m. I can’t wait to see you perform for everyone. You did great at rehearsal! Tonight, I want you to find one interesting fact about manatees. We talked about them in social studies today, but none of us knew many details about this animal. You can leave your information in the comments or write it in your assignment notebook.

Have a great night! Keep an eye to the sky!

Well fourth graders, what did you think?  Did you like the Stone Fox book or the movie better?  Please leave me your comments.  I am sad that I didn’t get to share that with you this afternoon, so leaving me your comments will help me feel better.  Tomorrow is a big day with the rehearsal for our Christmas program.  Dress warm!  It is VERY cold outside and still somewhat chilly in the school.  I don’t want anyone to miss this week.  We have lots of fun things to look forward to!  Don’t forget….tomorrow is the last day for the Humane Society change.  You are all going to make the life of these animals just a little bit easier.

Have a good night and STAY WARM.

Good evening, 4th grade!  I carried lots of books and lots of papers home, but also a very heavy load of change!  I am planning to take your donations to the bank tomorrow and see what the total is so far.  Remember, you can still bring in change for the Humane Society until Tuesday.  They are going to be so excited with what our whole fourth grade has collected.  Doesn’t it make you feel good to do something nice for someone else?  I hope you have a great weekend and come ready to enjoy the movie Stone Fox.  I wonder if you will like it as well as you did the book?

**Don’t forget to remind your parents…..Christmas Program on Tuesday @ 7:30 at the high school.

Good afternoon, 4th graders!  I hope your day went well.  I certainly hate to miss school, but Ali needed to get to the doctor.  I am planning on being back tomorrow, so be ready to LEARN!  I found this neat website about rocks last night.  Check it out!  Let me know how your day went today.
