On November 6th our moms had a Fall Party for us. We played Fall Bingo, made Indian Corn with fingerpaints, and had a delicious snack. What a fun afternoon!
Our October science unit was all about pumpkins. For a fun end to the unit we got to carve the pumpkin into our very own jack-o-lantern. Some fun activities included measuring the pumpkin, learning how pumpkins grow, finding out what foods we can make with pumpkins, and even eating the seeds from our pumpkin!
Everyday our kids participate in free centers. This is our word for play. During free centers students get to choose from a wide variety of options. We have a playhouse, writing center, blocks, Legos, read the room, write the room, and lots of other fun experiences for the kids. Here is a picture of one of our great creations!
I will start with a little bit about myself. My name is Amy Rittenhouse and I teach kindergarten at Southwest School. I am recently married and enjoy spending lots of time with my family. I have an awesome group of kids and am excited to see the progress that they make this year. I hope that I will be able to share these exciting learning moments with you!
