Online Registration Tips

We appreciate the patience and consideration given during the opening of online registration.  The support and response has been overwhelmingly supportive and as we proceed I wanted to share with you a few of the common glitches that people have overcome in our first year of implementation.
1.    Despite the advance notice for parents to get their Family Access logins and passwords, some have called today to try to get their information.  Your first option is to click the “Forgot your login or password?” an email will be sent to the Primary email address associated with your student.  If you do not have an email connected to a student  please call  the school office and they will help you with your login and password.
2.    There are occasional glitches with the Change Address/Bus Information screen.  This is a technical issue with Skyward, not within the District, but some have been able to logout and then log back in to then advance the screen.  Some have clicked “Save” twice and it has then advanced.  If you cannot advance any further, just click the Completed Step and if your child needs to ride the bus, please call Pinks’ Bus Service at 944-6417 to confirm the need for transportation.
3.    All registration needs to go through the Webstore even if you choose not to pay for registration online with a credit or debit card.  You simply click to open the Webstore and then close it, hit complete registration and then you can come into the MS or HS to pay your fees by check on August 12th or 13th.
Again, thank you for your patience and helpfulness as we work to improve our registration process.

Notice regarding Presidents Day

Good evening, this is Scott Kuffel, Superintendent of Geneseo District 228.  This message provides you with important calendar information for this week and beyond.

First, there were several calendars floating around that may have shown early dismissals this Thursday and Friday, January 29th and 30th.  Please note that we will observe FULL days of school all this week.  There will be no early dismissals this week.

Second, in order to try to gain back one day of instruction from the four days we have lost due to inclement weather, we will be attending school on February 16th, Presidents Day.   This is a change from the original school calendar for this year.

We appreciate your cooperation and apologize for any inconveniences this may cause.

Thursday, January 22nd will be periods 4, 5, and 6 semester exams.  We will also dismiss one hour early that day per the Negotiated Teacher Agreement to end the semester.

Friday, January 23rd will be one half day of school and Early Bird and 7th period exams at the High School and a half-day teacher inservice in the afternoon.

We will still plan on Friday evening events operating as scheduled.  If this changes those involved will be notified by School Messenger.

First semester will then conclude on Friday, January 23rd.

Thank you for your cooperation and patience as we weathered this end of week weather.

January 12, 2009 Reminder

A reminder that we are nearing the end of the first semester, so we will be observing a one-hour early dismissal on Wednesday and Thursday of this week.  We have a half-day inservice scheduled for this Friday, January 16th, so will follow our half-day dismissal schedule.

The weather is expected to turn very cold for the next few days, but if the roads remain passable, please plan on attending school.  If the roads are not in good condition, we will use this SchoolMessenger system to alert you of any cancellations or early dismissals.

As always, if you believe conditions are unsafe for your child, you need to take action that you believe necessary.  Thanks for all your support in making this a successful first semester of school.
