Math Extra Credit Begins!

**** REMINDER  - I forgot to remind you, but next week is march madness!  Monday is Western Day, so wear your western clothes.  If you see anyone from class, let them know!
Also, Dylan, you are the star of the week next week, so bring pictures if you read this :)  ****

If you’re reading this, that means you’re probably hoping for some math extra credit!  Great!  Remember to check back here each school night to answer a new question.

Since we don’t have school tomorrow, here are two different questions for you to answer.  You’ll get one extra credit point for each one you get correct.  :)

Keep working on those division facts as well!

Here are your two questions for the night:

1. What is the value of the digit 7 in 275,000?

2. What is the word form of 0.305?

Think hard and try to get them right!  You’ll find out on Monday how you did.

Have a wonderful weekend! :)

One More Day

I can’t believe that there is only one more day left in our school week.  It has gone by so fast!

A few things to make sure you get done for class tomorrow:
*Try to finish your biography notes.  Since we don’t have school on Friday, we are going to start writing the reports tomorrow.
*Do your math worksheet & study your facts for the division timed test!  Let’s help the class get to this week’s goal!
*Finish coloring your noun town for tomorrow
*Study for your spelling test tomorrow
*And lastly, don’t forget to finish your chart for social studies.

That is a lot to remember, but I saw that a lot of you were able to finish a couple of things at the end of the day today.  Good job! :)

Tonight’s Question:

Since we were working on quadrilaterals today in math, what type of quadrilateral is this?

It has 2 pairs of congruent angles and 2 pairs of congruent sides.  None of the angles are right angles, and the sides are not all the same length.

Paige has been a great photographer this week.  Here are some pictures from today:

Working hard in math class!

Looking up information for our biography reports.

Just being themselves…

Noun Town

You are creating some very detailed noun towns in class.  I’m very impressed!  Remember to have them finished and colored by Thursday.

Here is an example of Jordan’s noun town!

Your biographies are also starting to come together.  You have chosen some interesting people that I am excited to learn about from you.  Try to get all the information out of your book that you can by Thursday.  Tomorrow we’ll be working in the computer lab to find more information online.

Tonight’s Question:

Will informed us today about another Earthquake that happened in Turkey.  It was a 6.0 in magnitude.  That is still a big earthquake!  So your question is…What continent is Turkey on?

Below you will find some pictures that Paige took during math.

Normal School Day

It was nice to come to school today and not have to take a test, wasn’t it?

A couple of things to remember for this week

- Thursday you get out of school an hour early
- Friday you don’t have any school!
- Book Orders are due March 16th (next Tuesday)
- Practice your division facts for Thursday this week!

Now for your nightly question:

What property is this?   3 x 7 = 7 x 3

Here are a couple of pictures that Paige O. took today in class:

You forgot to open your eyes Freja!

You are all working so hard on your graphs…

What a good looking class!

Hooray for Biography projects!

Fun Day

*Nathan – you are the star of the week for next week and I forgot to remind you.  If you check this website, please bring in your pictures on Monday! :)

I hope that you all had a relaxing day because you deserved it!

Make sure to look below at the pictures from the science experiment today.

The weekend Question…

Who was your favorite character in “Finding Nemo”?

I know it is a hard question, but let’s see if we can get 15 of you to answer! :)

We Are Finished! :)

WOW!  We are done!  You have all been remarkable test takers!  Are you glad that it is over, or do you want to take more tests? :)

Only one more day left of the week and it should be a good day.  Remember to try and bring your 20 ounce diet coke for the science experiment tomorrow.  AND you also have another division test.  Let’s see if we can meet this week’s goal and get the reward!  I know you can do it!

I know you have a busy night with your choral concert, so I’ll make it a quick question.

A dog walker was walking 8 dogs.  How many dog legs were there?

Almost Done!

Guess what?  Only 1 more day of ISAT testing!  You have all been so great at sitting and working on these tests all week.

Let’s do another question on geography tonight.

Which of these countries extends the furthest north?  Japan, North Korea, or Turkey?

Can we get our 15 people on here tonight, so that you can all get your 10 beach bucks?

Below you will find some pictures that Brooke took this afternoon when we were relaxing after our last test!

Half Way Done!

Two days down, and two to go!  Tomorrow we will be doing a lot of reading, so rest those eyes tonight!

Your question for tonight:

Since the Olympics just ended this past weekend, how many gold medals did the United States get overall?

First Day of ISAT

Tonight would be a good night to relax now that day one of ISAT testing is finished!  You all worked so hard and I just have this feeling that you all did a fantastic job!

We talked a little bit this morning about the Earthquake in Chile which caused a fear of a Tsunami in many places.  It really made me remember the book we read at the beginning of the school year Escaping the Giant Wave. Can you remember how scary the earthquake and the tsunami was in the book?  How do you think the people in Chile, and the people in Hawaii felt?

Here is a picture to show you what the earthquake did in Chile!

Today’s Question:

What continent is Chile on?

For an extra beach buck, name another country that borders Chile.

Make sure that you get plenty of sleep again tonight and eat a good breakfast!  I’ll see you in the morning for the writing test! :)

It’s the weekend!

This week is now over, which means that we start our ISAT testing on Monday.  Make sure that you get plenty of sleep and eat a good breakfast every morning next week.  It will help you to focus better if you aren’t tired or listening to your stomach growl!  I have full confidence in you all!  You will do such a wonderful job! :)

This week  you won’t have much for homework except for the weekly spelling words.  It would be a great time to work really hard on your division facts so that we can meet next week’s goal.

Here is your weekend question:

What is the missing number in this sequence?

70, ____, 52, 43, 34

For an extra beach buck, what is the rule?

I was just reading all of your comments so far this weekend and it sounds like you’re visiting the “eye” optical illusions too!  You guys are funny :)

I don’t know if you guys have seen this, but it is a silly video that some teachers created about the ISAT.  The third and fourth graders in our school were watching it Friday.  I bet our class could make a better one, what do you think?  Click below to watch it.
