I’m back!!!!

This is my first blog for 2010.   Hopefully I will be able to find the time to keep up with it a little better this year.  I’ll do my best!

Pedometers

Something new at Northside this year are pedometers.  All 3rd through 5th grade students and teachers received a pedometer from the PTA.  Each day students record the number of steps they have taken!   The goal is encourage all of us to get moving!!!!

How do they do that?

I’m sure that many of you are watching the Olympics.  To make it even more interesting you might want to visit a site that focuses on the physics involved in each event.

Eagle Watchers!

To all of you eagle watchers out there.  Check out this site.  It’s an eagle nest in Decorah, Iowa somewhere near Luther College.  It turns infrared at night and is on 24 hours.  Enjoy.

Heller Highlights

Welcome to my first blog!   Hopefully this will be a useful tool for student and parents.  In science the fourth grade students are working with technology to collect and interpret data.  We are currently using temperature probes to monitor monthly air and soil temperatures.  Mr. Eaker has been working with us to download our data and create reports that include graphs, pictures and observations each month.
