Mrs. Toone sent me this picture from our last day of school. What a great picture to close off our blog. We’ve had a great time, and we’ve learned so many things! Go get ‘em in 4th grade! You are so ready!

August 8th, 2011Thank You-Thank You-Thank You!
August 8th, 2011
I want to thank ALL OF YOU for the Nelson rock that now sits in front of the Nelson moose. It says Est. 1923 under the name because that is the year Mr. Nelson’s grandfather first purchased the farm. We are so proud to have it on our farm and we are so proud that it came from you. A thousand thank yous!

July 7th, 2011Just today Mr. and Mrs. Flatt sent me pictures of the garden that you planted on Pioneer Day! Can you believe the crop that you are growing? Soon they will be able to harvest beans, and then corn, and then hills of potatoes! What a wonderful planting job you all did!

June 9th, 2011Verbs Show ACTION
June 9th, 2011
Finding VERBS in sentences usually is quite easy, but sometimes we run into verbs where the action is a little hard for us to “see.” For example, words like “run, sit, jump and skip” all easily show action and we recognize them as VERBS. But what about words like “hear, watch, know and learned?” Those words are also verbs, but they don’t show the same type of action or movement that you may think a verb should show. Try this verb recognition game and see how quickly you can find the one verb among the other words.
Fishing For Nouns
June 9th, 2011
Remember that a noun is a PERSON, a PLACE, or a THING. You can touch a noun….it’s there….it’s touchable. In this cute and clever fishing game you just quickly click on the noun and the worm goes right in the fish’s mouth to score points. Only one of the words in the group will be a noun. You choose which one you think it is. Good luck!
