Words Hurt!!

February 2nd, 2012

Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me!

Well…that may not be true!  See what we found out through saying unkind words to an apple!  Even though the outside of the apple remained unchanged, we found out that the inside was not edible!

Essays on the Wiki

January 27th, 2012

Today we finished typing our essays titled “I Have a Dream”.   Coupled with pictures taken as students dressed as their dream, this project turned out awesome!  Students even saved their work as a PDF and uploaded it to our wiki (all by themselves!).  I am so impressed that my students can utilize so much technology in their every day learning.  Keep up the great work Team Schulz!

Mrs. Ford and Mr. Belvel have been coming to our fifth grade class to show us how to handle bullies.  Today students did some role playing on what to do in specific situations.  I am very proud of how my students problem solved solutions to each issue.

Fifth graders…what are your thoughts about this experience today? Have you ever been in a similar situation? How will this be helpful to you? Please remember to explain why!

If you have any questions about what Mrs. Ford or Mr. Belvel present, please ask!

Wings for the King

January 18th, 2012

Both fifth grade classes were able to perform the play “Wings for the King” to other classes.  The students worked very hard on making simple props and costumes and using fluency in their reading.  Great job Fifth Graders!  : )
