Today we read about how plants make food. They use carbon dioxide, water, and sunlight to make sugar for energy. Photosynthesis is the name for the process.

Today we started growing our plants for when the anoles arrive in two weeks. Each group made a blue print of where the seeds were planted, how many of each, and where the cricket house will be in the terrarium.

Our variety pack of eggs hatched with three slightly different colored chicks than the other two incubators. Although we only had three hatch, they are very near and dear to our hearts. I hope all of you have enjoyed learning about the chicks and holding them off and on all week.

The chicks in Mrs. McCombs’ and Mrs. Faulkner’s class started hatching yesterday and more hatched today. Tomorrow we will have our chicks start hatching and hopefully by Thursday we have most of them hatched.

Today we were able to candle the eggs in our incubator to see if there is a chick inside or not. We looked at the shadow in the egg and the amount of light we could see through the egg. Some eggs had very little light, others a lot of light. We made our predictions [...]

Did you know verbs can be regular or irregular? To make a regular verb past tense add “ed” to the end. If you have to change the spelling of the verb to make it past tense, it becomes an irregular verb. For example, the verb take becomes took when it is past tense.
