Definition

Concrete antifreezer is a kind of admixture that can prevent water from freezing in materials at low temperatures. For example, when the temperature is below zero in winter, the concrete can be normally constructed under low-temperature construction. 

Early strength agent refers to the admixture which can improve the early strength of concrete and has no significant effect on the late strength. 

 

Classification 

Main types of concrete antifreezer: conventional concrete antifreezer and early strength concrete antifreezer. 

Early strength agents can be divided into strong electrolyte inorganic salts, water-soluble organic compounds, organic and inorganic compound early strength agents according to their chemical composition. 

 

Working Principle

Concrete antifreezer in winter construction, when the strength of concrete to a certain limit value, due to the initial formation of the structure, with the ability to resist frost heaving damage, concrete will not be frozen again, this strength is called the critical strength of concrete antifreezer. 

Concrete early strength agent refers to the admixture which can improve the early strength of concrete and has no significant effect on the late strength. The main function of early strength agent is to accelerate the hydration rate of cement and promote the early strength of coagulation. 

 

Use

Concrete antifreezer is the winter in the concrete project temperature at zero or below zero, can let the concrete under low-temperature normal construction. 

Early strength agent does not contain chloride ion, no corrosion of steel bar, applicable to all civil and industrial buildings and prestressed reinforced concrete members, mortar and so on. It is most suitable for construction under low temperature in early winter and early spring. Used in Portland cement, slag cement is particularly significant in strengthening and modifying. 

 

Application Scope

It is necessary to add early strength agent to improve the early strength of concrete in the cold area all year round. If the temperature reaches zero or below zero, concrete antifreezer must be used. In the production of concrete member, the early strength agent is more suitable for the early tensile steel bar, faster turnover of formwork and utilization rate of pedestal.

Gas prices in European countries are expected to triple if Russian supplies are restricted, according to a press release from Rystad Energy, a Norwegian Energy consultancy.  

The price of natural gas in Europe was $1,200 per 1,000 cubic meters on Tuesday. The benchmark price is already 300 percent higher than a year ago. European gas prices are expected to continue to soar to $3,500 per 1,000 cubic meters if Russian supplies are restricted, according to Analysis by Monitor.

In 2021, Russia delivered 155 billion cubic meters of gas to Europe, accounting for 31 percent of its gas supply, according to an analysis by Monitor Advisors. It would be difficult for Europe to replace Russian gas, which would also destabilize the global LNG market and have a profound impact on Europe's population and economy.

The analysis also said that if Russia stopped supplies now, Europe's current gas reserves would be exhausted by the end of the year, setting in for a cold winter.

In addition, affected by the geopolitical factors, the supply of the early strength agent is erratic and thus its prices are expected to go higher in the future.
