What is TC4 (Ti6Al4V) Titanium Alloy Material

OPEC+ is likely to stick to its plan for a small increase in oil Ti6Al4V Powder will continue to be influenced by the oil supply shortage.

What is TC4(Ti6Al4V)?

TC4(Ti6Al4V) alloy is a medium strength α-β type two-phase titanium alloy containing 6% α-stabilizing element AI and 4% β-stabilizing element V. This alloy has excellent comprehensive properties and has obtained the most extensive applications in the aviation and aerospace industries. The long-term working temperature of the alloy can reach 400 ℃. In the aviation industry, it is mainly used to manufacture the fan and compressor disks and blades of the engine, as well as the important load-bearing components such as beams, joints and bulkheads in the aircraft structure.

The main semi-finished products of TC4 titanium alloy are bars, forgings, thick plates, thin plates, profiles and wires, etc. The alloy is mainly used in the annealed state, and can also be strengthened by solution aging treatment, but the hardened cross section is generally not more than 25mm.

The alloy has good process plasticity and superplasticity, and is suitable for various pressure forming. The alloy can also be welded and machined in various ways.

TC4(Ti6Al4V) heat treatment system

1. Annealing

Plate: 700-850℃, 0.5-2h, air cooling; bar and forging: 700-800℃, 1-2h, air cooling.

2. Vacuum annealing

700-800°C, 0.5-2h, the furnace is cooled to below 200°C to allow air cooling. The absolute pressure in the furnace should be no more than 0.09Pa.

3. Solution treatment

910-940℃, 0.5-2h, water quenching.

4. Aging

520-550°C, 2-4h, air cooling.

5. Stress relief annealing

Complete stress relief annealing: 600-650℃, 1-4h, air cooling; incomplete stress relief annealing: 500-600℃, 0.5-3h, air cooling. Stress relief annealing can be carried out in an air furnace or a vacuum furnace.
