Roller bearing
Roller bearing is a kind of rolling bearing, and it is one of the parts widely used in modern machinery. It relies on the rolling contact between the main components to support the rotating parts. Roller bearings are now mostly standardized. Roller bearings have the advantages of small starting torque, high rotation accuracy, and convenient selection.
Roller bearings rely on the rolling contact between the main parts to support the rotating parts. Different roller bearings can withstand different radial and axial forces. When choosing roller bearings, the choice should be made according to specific working conditions.
Types of roller bearings
Roller bearings mainly include spherical roller bearings, thrust spherical roller bearings, tapered roller and cylindrical roller bearings and other structural types.
Spherical roller bearing
Because the outer surface is a spherical surface centered on the bearing midpoint, it can automatically adjust its center. It belongs to a radial bearing and allows the inclination of the inner ring to the outer ring axis to be ≤1.5°~2.5°.
Thrust Spherical Roller Bearing
It is a radial thrust bearing, but the radial load must not exceed 55% of the axial load.
In order to ensure that it can work normally, a certain axial preload is generally required.
The deviation of the shaft ring to the axis of the seat ring is allowed to be ≤1.5°~2.5°.
Tapered Roller Bearings
It is a radial thrust bearing (30000 type is mainly used for radial load, 3000B is mainly used for axial load).
The outer ring can be separated, the clearance of the bearing during installation. Generally used in pairs.
Cylindrical Roller Bearings
Belongs to radial bearings. The outer ring (or inner ring) can be separated, so it cannot bear the axial load.
The rollers are positioned axially by the ribs of the inner ring (or outer ring), and a small amount of axial misalignment of the inner and outer rings is allowed during operation.
The allowable amount of deflection of the inner and outer rings is small.
This type of bearing can also have no inner ring or outer ring.
The difference between roller bearings and ball bearings
Ball bearing: Determine the relative position of the two components (usually the shaft and the bearing seat) to ensure that they rotate freely while transmitting the load. At high speeds (such as in gyro ball bearings), this application can be extended to include free rotation, while the bearing has almost no wear.
Roller bearings: Support rotating parts by rolling contact. Different rolling bearings can withstand different radial and axial forces. When selecting rolling bearings, they should be selected according to specific working conditions.

Applications of roller bearings:
Roller bearings are used in rotary applications to replace sliding movement with low friction, rolling. Automated roller bearing setting techniques offer many advantages like reduced setting time, assembly cost, and reliable setting. To select the right roller bearing, one must determine the desired bearing life and a sufficient basic dynamic load rating to meet that life requirement. Roller bearings are used in power generation, wind turbines, gear drives, rolling mills, machine tool spindles, gear reduction units, etc.
