Titanium Nitride, or TiN, is a ceramic hard material with high thermal and electrical conductivity. It is used extensively as a surfacing material because of its unique properties. The following are the most common applications for Titanium Nitride.

Cutting tools

Tin is used as a coating on many cutting tools, including drills and end mills. The coating reduces friction and increases wear resistance, allowing for faster and more precise cutting.

Machine Tooling

The coating is applied onto machine tool parts such as dies or molds. The coating offers excellent wear resistance, and reduces friction.

Medical Implants

Titanium Nitride can be used to cover medical implants. It is biocompatible. It is applied on implants to improve biocompatibility, prevent corrosion, and reduce wear.

Aerospace

In the aerospace industry, tiN is also applied. It is used to coat various aerospace components such as turbine blades. gears and bearings. The coating reduces friction to increase efficiency and component life.

Decorative Coatings

Titanium Nitride Also used as a protective coating. It can be applied to a wide range of products including watches, jewellery, and firearms. The coating is a highly durable, scratch-resistant gold color.

Titanium Nitride has unique properties that make it a versatile and useful material. Its wear resistance is excellent, as are its biocompatibility properties and decorative qualities.
